Description

The ideal Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner candidate will have psychiatric nursing experience in acute care, detox, and /or mental health facilities. You must possess strong assessment and organizational skills, be able to prioritize care and communicate with the medical and clinical teams. You must be able to establish a therapeutic relationship with patients and their families, be a good listener, have good observation skills, and have nursing skills sufficient to provide the best care possible. Ideal candidate will have medical and psychiatric experience.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Holds a current unrestricted license as an ARNP, Licensed Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in the state of facility and maintains current licensure per state requirements.
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in a chemical dependency/psychiatric setting preferred; preferably in an inpatient, partial hospitalization and/or outpatient setting and/or meets educational requirements.
  • Must have a Valid Driver’s License and Auto Insurance.
  • Valid and Current CPR
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform varied physical assistance to include bed care & transfers

Responsibilities
  • Provides routine psychiatric care under the supervision of the Medical Director/ Director of Nursing
  • Thoroughly documents in patient chart, specifically Psychiatric Assessments and Notes, in a detailed and timely manner in accordance with facilities standards.
  • Takes verbal orders from the Medical Director, documents them in the patient record and carries them out accurately and professionally.
  • Administers medications.
  • Work under as directed by Clinical Director / Director of Nursing.
  • Maintains effective communication between outside medical services and the facility.
  • Be a Team Player.
