JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a qualified and dedicated Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our Samba team. In this role, you will work collaboratively with a Medical Director and clinical team to provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and client-centered care within our outpatient program.

SKILLS

  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with a Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) certification.
  • Active and unrestricted PMHNP license in the state of Georgia.
  • DEA license with the authority to prescribe psychiatric medications.
  • Prior working relationship with a psychiatrist(s) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience, ideally in outpatient mental health and/or substance use treatment settings.
  • Familiarity with startup or growing treatment programs is preferred.
  • Excellent communication, clinical documentation, and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to delivering trauma-informed, culturally competent, and client-centered care.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Office-based, outpatient clinical environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.
  • May require use of stairs during emergency drills or facility activities.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct initial psychiatric evaluations and ongoing assessments.
  • Diagnose mental health conditions and co-occurring disorders.
  • Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications as clinically indicated.
  • Collaborate with therapists, case managers, and other members of the treatment team to develop and monitor individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide psychoeducation and medication guidance to clients and their families.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system, KIPU.
  • Order and interpret laboratory tests as appropriate.
  • Participate in case consultations, staff meetings, and compliance trainings.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and all applicable regulatory requirements.
