Description SUMMARY: Assess, diagnose and treat patients with mental health conditions, including providing therapy, prescribing medications and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care. SUPERVISOR: Medical Director or Designee DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments to identify mental health conditions. Review patient history, conduct mental status exams and utilize diagnostic tools. Treatment Planning and Implementation: Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and diagnoses. Implement evidence-based therapies and interventions, including medication management. Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications, as appropriate and within scope of practice. Therapeutic Interventions: Provide individual, group and family therapy sessions. Utilize various therapeutic modalities, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and psychodynamic therapy. Medication Management: Monitor patient(s) responses to medication and adjust dosages as needed. Educate patient(s) and families about medications and potential side effects. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care. Communicate effectively with patients, families and other team members. Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and thorough patient records, including assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes. Adhere to HIPAA guidelines Adhere to governing bodies not limited to HRSA, OMAS and COA requirements. Education and Outreach: Provide education and support to patients and families about mental health conditions and treatment options. Participate in community outreach and mental health awareness initiatives. Other Duties: Involvement in research, quality improvement projects, and policy development related to mental health care. May provide consultation services to other healthcare providers. Other duties as assigned Requirements MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing (PMHNP) Experience in mental health settings Knowledge of mental health disorders, psychopharmacology, and therapeutic interventions. Strong interpersonal, clinical, and communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team. LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED: State of Ohio APRN Licensure PMHNP Certification - Eligible Valid Driver’s License Current DEA Registration COMPLIANCE: This position requires compliance with AFS's written standards, including its Compliance Program and Standards of Conduct and policies and procedures.
