Description

The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner is responsible for providing psychiatric services to assigned youth and adult clients seen at Catholic Charities who are enrolled for mental health services. This is a 100% on-site position in our Wenatchee office, serving all ages of clients including children. The work schedule will be Monday-Friday day shift hours, with no on-call or weekend work requirements.

NON-PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Education

  • MSN or DNP required with focus as Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Experience

  • Prior experience as a psychiatric prescriber preferred but not required
  • Experience using Electronic Health Records (EHR) for clinical documentation

Licensure, Registration, Certification

  • Current ARNP and RN licensure without any restrictions in the State of Washington
  • DEA registration
  • Board certification as Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
  • Valid Washington State driver’s license and required minimum liability insurance for WA State
  • Must be deemed insurable as determined by Catholic Charities’ liability insurance provider

Wage: $148,000 - $164,000 salary per year, depending on experience
Bonus: $30,000 - $40,000 sign on bonus, paid out in 4 installments for a total service commitment of 51 months
Relocation: negotiable up to $5,000
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

Demonstrate knowledge of and compliance with agency policies and procedures

  • Follow agency policies and procedures regarding program operation, infection control, and clinical treatment
  • Provide services and maintain records to meet BHO requirements, level of care standards, and agency guideline
  • Maintain productivity (direct client contact) at 70 % to department standard
  • Meet regularly with provider specific staff regarding systemic issues impacting patient care
  • Participate in team building and coordination to improve program operations and quality of service deliver

Understand and comply with all relevant regulatory and safety standards and requirements.

  • Complete training and licensing requirements in accordance with professional standards of the discipline
  • Submit licenses and insurance information within 10 days of renewal
  • Completes paperwork or online applications to assist with credentialing for third party payers
Responsibilities

Perform psychiatric evaluations and medication management services to enrolled consumers.

  • Provides psychiatric services to enrolled individuals in intensive treatment, outpatient services, and crisis stabilization services
  • Evaluate consumers potentially in need of psychotropic medication
  • Prescribe, monitor and evaluate results of medication prescribed to consumers
  • Educate consumers on benefits and risks of all medications prescribed
  • Order and evaluate laboratory tests as indicated for appropriate medical and psychiatric care.

Provide consultation to facilitate care of persons served

  • Consult with Catholic Charities clinical staff as needed
  • Coordinate and/or consult with outside physicians for psychiatric or medical management of a client under Catholic Charities’ care
  • Ensure accuracy of psychiatric diagnoses and assessments conducted by mental health staff
  • Provide expertise and clinical leadership in the development of treatment and discharge planning for consumers served
  • Oversee quality and suitability of treatment and discharge planning for consumers
  • Provide education and training to clinical staff regarding diagnoses, treatment planning, use and abuse of medications, health maintenance, and related clinical issues

Demonstrate knowledge of and compliance with agency policies and procedures

  • Follow agency policies and procedures regarding program operation, infection control, and clinical treatment
  • Provide services and maintain records to meet BHO requirements, level of care standards, and agency guideline
  • Maintain productivity (direct client contact) at 70 % to department standard
  • Meet regularly with provider specific staff regarding systemic issues impacting patient care
  • Participate in team building and coordination to improve program operations and quality of service delivery

Document all clinical activities in conjunction with agency guidelines and procedures

  • Complete and submit progress notes and documentation within required timelines using the agency’s EHR
  • Maintain the security of CareLogic or other EHR system(s)
  • Ensure medication consents are documented and current
  • Provide legal documentation as required

Understand and comply with all relevant regulatory and safety standards and requirements.

  • Complete training and licensing requirements in accordance with professional standards of the discipline
  • Submit licenses and insurance information within 10 days of renewal
  • Completes paperwork or online applications to assist with credentialing for third party payers.
