QUALIFICATION:
A Psychiatric Rehabilitation Services Coordinator (PRSC) shall possess a bachelor’s degree in a human services field (including but not limited to: sociology, special education, rehabilitation counseling or psychology) and have a minimum of one year of supervised experience in mental health or human services.
Working Conditions and Qualifications
Ability to establish working relationships with residents, family members, staff, visitors, government agency personnel, etc. Ability to tolerate demanding, upset people in crisis situations without taking it personally. Ability to be patient, steady, cheerful and enthusiastic with the sustained motivation needed in a long-term care setting. Ability to work cooperatively and harmoniously in a problem-solving manner with a variety of personalities in a fast-paced changing environment keeping in mind the welfare of the residents.
Purpose of the Position
The primary purpose of the position is to integrate, coordinate and monitor each resident’s psychiatric rehabilitation services program of a specific case load of residents in accordance with current Federal, State and local standards, guidelines and regulations, our established policies and procedures, and as may be directed by the PRSD and/or Administrator, to assure that the emotional and social needs of the resident are met and maintained on an individual basis. Generally, the responsibilities of the PRSC are:
