IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Medical Director Summary:  The Psychiatrist, under auspices of or in conjunction with the Medical Director, sets the standards for facility medical/psychiatric management. Education Requirement: MD degree and completed a residency in psychiatry Experience Requirement: * Current license to practice in state of Tennessee without sanctions. Documented evidence of training or knowledge of psychiatric management. Working with Dually Diagnosed a plus. Current CEU  requirements in accordance with regulatory guidelines.  Key Job Responsibilities: 1. Lead the assessment and development of appropriate plan of care 2. Involve client, family and staff in execution of Plan of care 3. Intervene as warranted in response to DISCUS assessment 4. Incorporate interdisciplinary assessments into Plan of care such as BDP, IEP and other medical disciplines 5. Thorough knowledge of psychotropic management and interventions 6. Documentation in accordance with medical, regulatory and funding guidelines 7. Provide mandated oversight to Advance Practice Nurses 8. Provide Consultation as warranted to other clinical staff 9. Assist in development of clinical policies and procedures 10. Other duties as maybe assigned. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Experience working with interdisciplinary team.  Experience working with Advance Practice Nurses. Supervision Provided b by this Job:  As delegated by his/her immediate supervisor. PERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS: In order to appropriately accomplish his/her duties, the person occupying  this position will be required to maintain effective relationships with a wide variety of professional  clinical staff and Center clients
Responsibilities
