Description
We are seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Psychiatrist to provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and pharmacological management for patients experiencing a range of mental health disorders. The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to diagnose illnesses, prescribe medications, and monitor patient progress to improve overall mental well-being and functional outcomes. Key Responsibilities * Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, including mental status examinations and review of medical history. * Diagnose mental health conditions based on the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5). * Develop and implement individualized treatment plans involving medication management and therapeutic interventions. * Monitor and adjust medication dosages based on patient response, side effects, and laboratory results. * Collaborate with therapists, social workers, and primary care physicians to ensure a holistic approach to patient care. * Provide crisis intervention and stabilization for patients in acute psychiatric distress. * Maintain detailed and accurate electronic health records (EHR) in compliance with medical and legal standards. * Educate patients and their families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and prognosis. Qualifications * Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school. * Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited residency program in Psychiatry. * Board certification or board eligibility in General Psychiatry. * Current and unrestricted state medical license. * Valid DEA registration for prescribing controlled substances. * Advanced knowledge of psychotropic medications and their interactions. * Excellent clinical judgment and the ability to build rapport with diverse patient populations. Work Environment This role may be based in an outpatient clinic, inpatient hospital, or residential treatment center.
