QUALIFICATIONS:

The successful candidate should be board certified or board eligible. Experience relevant to clinical setting with understanding of chronic mental illness, dual diagnosis, mental illness/substance abuse disorders, and adults or children/adolescents.

  • Holds an MD or DO degree from an accredited allopathic or osteopathic medical school
  • Completed US residency program
  • Licensed in Colorado
  • Valid DEA License and BLS Certificate every 2 years
  • Bilingual Spanish preferred

Schedule:

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Psychiatrist ("Psychiatrist") is an integral member of Community Reach Center’s Medical Services-MD’s ("Division") Division. The Psychiatrist under limited supervision, provides psychiatric evaluation, treatment planning and medication management at the site(s) assigned. Participates as a member of a treatment team and assures Clinicians receive appropriate psychiatric input. Additionally, the Psychiatrist will have other duties and responsibilities as determined from time to time by the Chief Medical Officer.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide psychiatric assessment, pharmacological management, medication education, treatment planning and psychotherapy.
  • Consults with Clinicians, Case Managers, and other program staff and family members of consumers for ongoing clinical needs and treatment plans.
  • Coordinates and attends meetings as needed
  • Documents intervention and program activity and maintains accurate and timely clinical records according to Division policies and procedures.
  • Maintains confidentiality of consumer records
  • Keeps current on research and state of the art knowledge regarding mental illness, especially psychopharmacology of major mental illness according to prevailing standards from professional organizations and community.
  • Provides leadership to the treatment team but empowers, supports, and utilizes the skills, experience, and knowledge of non-medical team members
  • Provides and receives feedback using conflict resolution and problem-solving skills when identifying gaps in program and program planning.
