Description South Texas Mental Health Associates is expanding to Edinburg, TX, in the Rio Grande Valley, and we are seeking a dedicated, compassionate Psychiatrist to join our growing mental health team at our new location. We provide comprehensive patient-oriented care to address mental health issues, including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, mood disorders, ADHD, schizophrenia, and more. Sign on in 2026 and enjoy a $50,000 signing bonus! The ideal candidate will possess a strong psychopharmacology and behavioral health background, with experience in outpatient settings. This role involves providing comprehensive psychiatric care to patients, including those with developmental disabilities and addiction issues. The Psychiatrist will conduct diagnostic evaluations, develop treatment plans, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Requirements Provide general oversight of all psychiatric services including oversight of clinical protocols, and supervision of advanced practice providers. Delivery of psychiatric services to patients: Psychiatric evaluations for medication management Follow-up medication management appointments Appointment times are flexible and based on provider preference, provided productivity standards are met Complete full and appropriate documentation to support professional billing for services. Maintain required licensure, certifications, and CME credits. Additional opportunities available: TMS mapping (training provided) Overseeing ketamine program (training provided) Qualifications: Medical degree (MD or DO) with a specialization in Psychiatry. Board Certified or Board Eligible with plan to take Boards within 3 years. Experience in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry is a plus. Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology principles and practices. Familiarity with outpatient psychiatric care settings. Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse patient populations.
