POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in psychiatric medication management, with a deep appreciation for holistic, trauma-informed, and integrative approaches to mental healthcare in a community settings.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Current PMHNP license in Washington D.C
  • Board certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (ANCC).
  • Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in psychiatric care (preferred).
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnoses, and treatment plans.
  • Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications with a focus on safety, efficacy, and client collaboration.
  • Monitor patient progress and modify treatment as needed.
  • Collaborate with therapists, case managers, and other providers to deliver coordinated, integrated care.
  • Educate patients and families on treatment options, medication use, and wellness strategies.
  • Utilize holistic modalities when appropriate, such as mindfulness, lifestyle changes, nutrition, and complementary therapies.
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Participate in team meetings, supervision, and continuing education initiatives.
