Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

In this role you will be working for the Older Persons Mental Health team to facilitate change in attitudes and behaviour related to health and illness, for the purpose of preventing and relieving distress or dysfunction and to promote quality of life.
The successful applicant will evaluate complex psychological and other factors affecting behaviours. This will inform collaborative case formulations and lead to individual counselling services, therapeutic interventions, group programs in areas that may include mental health, family issues, behavioural problems, problem addictions, prevention and early intervention, trauma or health rehabilitation.
This position provides an exciting opportunity for psychologists committed to working in a community mental health team, in particular those interested in working with older people and their families.
