Summary Responsible for diagnosing or evaluating pain disorders and other mental and emotional disorders of individuals through observation, interview, and psychological tests. Develop and implement individual treatment plans, specifying type, frequency, intensity, and duration of therapy. Responsibilities (30%)*Administers clinical diagnostic interview, psychometric instruments, and completes patient and family conferences. (20%)* Summarizes patient information, develop reports and patient interventions. Communicates findings with interdisciplinary team members (30%)* Plans and implements individual behavioral plans of care. Works collaboratively with patients to help them to alleviate symptoms. (20%)* Intervenes effectively with the more involved, complex patient interventions. Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to best meet the patients’ needs. Makes appropriate referrals and provides care coordination to help patients meet their bio-psycho-social needs. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Completes education and cross training to teammates and other behavioral health personnel, and willingly agrees to provide psychology services for patients in other medical center departments as needed. Assists with orientation and oversight of new staff and/or psychology students. Assures that billing charges are completed, and that all documentation is completed accurately within specified time frames. Works in supportive collaboration with other treatment team members and provides clinical leadership to meet patient needs. Certifications and Licensures PCSW - Psychologist/Counselor/Social Worker Required Equivalent Experience - Must be eligible for licensure in the State of MI Required Education Education: Masters Degree Comments: Doctoral Degree in Psychology preferred. Other Information Required Experience, Training and Skills: Training and experience in diagnosing, assessment, crisis intervention, treatment and transition planning; techniques in motivational interviewing and pain psychology; awareness of community resources, ensuring transitions to appropriate levels of care, and special needs and cultural patterns of patient populations served. Interpersonal skills needed to communicate ideas and concepts in a clear understandable manner and the ability to interact individually and in groups. Must adhere to the National Code of standards and ethics for psychologists. Must follow MyMichigan Health policies and procedures. Must meet mandatory educational competency requirements to maintain licensure.
