The EAP counselling team provides mental health support to employees and their families in a multidisciplinary environment where open exchanges between colleagues are valued.
What you’ll do
As a counsellor at TELUS Health, you will make a difference in the lives of our EAP clients by providing them with short-term counselling, when they need it. Supporting a diverse clientele presenting various issues will enable you to grow professionally and develop your skills.
You will benefit from the support of supervisors who are available as needed and have the opportunity to easily interact with your colleagues in a stimulating and collaborative work environment. Our multidisciplinary, dynamic, and caring team stands out for its incredible expertise and generosity in sharing knowledge.
How you will make an impact
- You will provide short-term counselling (3 to 6 sessions) to a diverse set of clients in person, by phone or through video;
- You will manage the administrative requirements of cases using simple clinical templates, making note-taking easy.
What you bring
The ideal candidate is comfortable with a diverse clientele and comfortable using short-term counselling. They are also proactive, resourceful and organized, and value collaboration with colleagues.
- You hold a master’s degree or a doctorate degree in mental health or human relations;
- You are a member in good standing of the Québec Order of Psychologists (OPQ);
- You have a minimum of two years of clinical experience;
- You have the ability to set short-term objectives and use a solution-focused approach;
- You are empathetic and are able to clinically manage high-risk cases;
- You have excellent time-management skills with the ability to handle a large volume of clients;
- You have a good knowledge of community resources;
- Proficiency in French is required, bilingualism is an asset.
