JOB DESCRIPTION: PSYCHOLOGY ASSISTANT / PSYCHOMETRIST (30 HOURS/WEEK)

Reports To: Licensed Psychologist
Schedule: 30 hours per week (flexible scheduling available; some daytime/evening hours may be required)
Location: Glenview, IL

POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a detail-oriented, dependable Psychology Assistant / Psychometrist to join our practice. The Psychometrist will administer and score psychological and neuropsychological tests under the supervision of a licensed psychologist. This role is designed as a part-time position (30 hours per week), ideal for individuals with strong testing and organizational skills who enjoy working in a collaborative clinical environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in psychology, education, or a related field.
  • Experience: Prior experience administering standardized tests preferred (but training may be provided).
  • Familiarity with commonly used assessment tools (e.g., WISC-V, WAIS-IV, WJ, RIAS-2, BASC-3, Vineland etc.) strongly preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to follow standardized protocols.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with children, adolescents, and adults.
  • Strong writing and documentation skills required; ability to clearly summarize test results and behavioral observations.
  • Ability to work independently while also functioning as part of a clinical team.

Responsibilities
  • Administer standardized psychological, educational, and neuropsychological assessments to children, adolescents, and adults under supervision.
  • Accurately score and summarize test data, preparing results for review by the supervising psychologist.
  • Ensure testing protocols are followed consistently, maintaining reliability and validity.
  • Prepare testing materials, organize test kits, and maintain inventory.
  • Manage scheduling and logistics of assessment sessions in coordination with administrative staff.
  • Provide a supportive, professional environment for clients during testing.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to ethical and professional standards.
  • Assist with drafting test report sections (e.g., history, behavioral observations, test data summaries) under psychologist supervision.
  • Assist with data entry, quality assurance, and other administrative tasks as needed.
