PSYCHOLOGY GRADUATE – SEN TEACHING ASSISTANT

Location: Crewe
Salary: Up to £550 per week

Are you a Psychology graduate looking to gain hands-on experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)?
Are you considering a future career in educational psychology, child therapy or mental health services?
A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Crewe is looking for a dedicated Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025. This full-time, term-time role is an ideal opportunity for a psychology graduate to gain valuable, practical experience in a nurturing and supportive school environment.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

  • A recent Psychology graduate (2:1 or above preferred)
  • Passionate about working with children and young people with SEN
  • Patient, empathetic, and confident in building strong relationships
  • Experience in education, care, or youth work is a plus, but not essential
Responsibilities

ROLE OVERVIEW:

  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM
  • Pay: Up to £550 per week
  • Contract: Full academic year (with potential for a permanent role)
  • Location: Crewe
  • Start Date: September 2025

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with a range of SEN, including autism, speech and language needs, and emotional regulation challenges
  • Assist in implementing personalised learning strategies and behaviour plans
  • Work closely with educational psychologists, speech and language therapists, and other external professionals
  • Support students’ social and emotional development in a structured, caring environment
  • Gain practical experience relevant to future postgraduate training or careers in psychology, therapy, or education
