Description

Impact Therapy Group is seeking a passionate and skilled Registered Psychotherapist or Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) to join our practice as an independent contractor. The candidate must reside in Ontario.
We are a Toronto-based private practice providing evidence-based psychotherapy to adults, teenagers, and couples struggling with a range of mental health concerns, including borderline personality disorder, anxiety, ADHD, depression, trauma, OCD, and relationship issues. Our team currently includes four therapists, and we are excited to expand so we can serve even more people in need.
At Impact Therapy Group, our approach is active and goal-oriented. We value compassion and validation, but we also challenge clients’ assumptions and teach skills that help them create meaningful change. While therapy requires hard work, we strive to keep the atmosphere relaxed and even welcome the occasional joke.
We are looking for a therapist who:
· Embraces an integrative approach to treatment
· Is committed to growth through supervision, peer consultation, and professional reading
· Can create a warm, non-judgmental environment while also actively helping clients work toward their goals

ALL SESSIONS ARE CONDUCTED REMOTELY THROUGH JANE APP.

Our workplace culture is one of enthusiasm, dedication, and emotional safety. We celebrate the privilege of making a difference in people’s lives, and we want that sense of purpose to infuse our team interactions. Vulnerability is welcomed here — you will never be judged for uncertainty or for seeking guidance on how to best support a client.
If you’re enthusiastic about providing therapy and want to be part of a supportive, growth-oriented team, we’d love to hear from you!

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree in counselling psychology (or a closely related field) from an accredited university program.
  • Registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO)
  • Demonstrated training and clinical experience in providing evidence-based psychotherapeutic interventions, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), or other recognized modalities. Training must extend beyond foundational graduate coursework (e.g., gained through practicum with modality-specific supervision, continuing education, or post-graduate certification).
  • Clinical experience in a mental health or psychotherapy-focused setting with direct supervision in therapeutic modalities
  • Proof of professional liability insurance with coverage for virtual practice
  • Ability to work with teens is an asset
  • Ability to work with couples is an asset; completion of levels one and two training in the Gottman Method would be required to work with couples
Responsibilities
  • Provide individual and/or couples therapy sessions in a private practice environment
  • Develop tailored treatment plans using evidence-based approaches
  • Maintain accurate, timely client records
  • Follow professional and ethical guidelines, which include upholding confidentiality, obtaining informed consent, and maintaining appropriate professional boundaries
  • Respond promptly to emails from clients and prospective clients
  • Participate in ongoing clinical supervision to encourage professional growth and learning
