Description Purpose To keep displays, coolers, and shelves for all retail departments fully stocked and rotated. To facilitate transactions and secure cash handling at the register. To help departments meet the goals and objectives for sales, margin, inventory, and labor. All OH staff are responsible to provide welcoming, friendly, and helpful customer service to all shoppers and co-workers in accordance with our organizational goals and programs Status Job Title: Produce Clerk Reports To: Produce Manager, Lead Produce Clerk FLSA Status: Non-exempt Level: 1 Required Schedule Sunday / 8 am - 2 pm Friday / 12 pm - 6 pm Saturday / 12 pm - 6 pm additional shifts may be available Essential Responsibilities and Functions SCANNING Accurate scanning of products by UPC or PLU codes Accurate processing of appropriate tender Maintain accurate paperwork and drawer reconciliation STOCKING Run stock for all areas of the department as prioritized and assigned. Review and update daily tasks and communication systems for accountability. Stock displays fully without overcrowding; face items on shelves. Pull expired or low-quality items and follow established procedures for recording and disposing of them. Label items accurately with price tags or signs, when necessary. Report price discrepancies to Department Manager. Maintain stocking lists for other shifts. Notify Department Manager of out-of-stocks using established communication systems. RECEIVING Check deliveries to verify piece count, notify buyer of discrepancies. Check for damage and unacceptable quality, notify receiver or manager of issues. Log all deliveries received and route invoices to proper mailbox Help with unloading as needed. Rotate overstock into storage DEPARTMENT MAINTENANCE Follow department opening / closing procedures Ensure that all department areas (aisles, shelves, bins, coolers, freezers, and storage areas) are kept in clean and orderly condition. Participate in accurate inventory counts. Use equipment safely. Monitor cooler and freezer temperatures. Alert department manager of equipment problems or safety issues. CUSTOMER SERVICE Uphold and demonstrate our above & beyond customer service policy Interact with customers, in-person and on the phone, in a friendly, efficient manner Actively engages customers about ownership, promotions, and upcoming events Assist customers with special orders. Offer educated suggestions for purchases and ways to prepare products OTHER DUTIES Perform other tasks assigned by FES or Department Manager Attend department and storewide meetings. Requirements Physical Job Requirements & Working Conditions The physical requirements described here are those that an employee must meet, with or without reasonable accommodation, to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Ability to sit, stand, walk for 8 hours/day, on average. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to use hands for keyboard, pulling and pushing standard office supplies and carts for hauling product. Ability to repeat motion with hands and arms for extended stretch of time. Ability to bend, squat, reach on an occasional basis. Willingness and ability to learn to meet the changing requirements of the job.
