Temple University's College of Public Health is searching for a Part-Time Research Assistant! HOURLY RATE: $17.00 per hour A variety of important factors are reviewed by HR when considering salary, including job duties, the applicant’s education and experience, all relevant internal equity considerations, department budget, and funding source. *Grant funded position Position Summary: We are seeking one research assistant under the project Act 79 of 2018 Qualitative Research Initiative. The goal of this project is to evaluate the current implementation of Act 79 of 2018, a law requiring relinquishment of guns and other weapons by domestic abusers, by local jurisdictions in Pennsylvania and identify strategies to improve implementation. The project will help answer key implementation questions and identify recommendations for Pennsylvania policymakers and practitioners. Findings will also help inform resource allocations to invest in additional training and technical assistance for key stakeholders responsible for Act 79 implementation. Research assistant responsibilities include assisting with qualitative data collection (e.g., interviews) and analysis, data cleaning and coding, literature searches, and administrative tasks as needed. Required Education and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and one year of experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Required Skills and Abilities: *Ability to complete detailed assignments in a timely and accurate manner. *Strong organization skills and attention to detail. *Demonstrated verbal, written, and interpersonal communications skills. *Ability to work with and adapt to new technology. *Ability to work independently and in a team environment. *Ability to work collaboratively with partner organizations. *Ability to be highly flexible. *Ability to use MS Office. *Demonstrated ability to conduct research fact finding searches, including internet and scholarly literature searches Preferred Skills and Abilities: *Qualtrics *Atlas.ti *Ability to make updates to websites Essential duties: *Attend meetings and take notes *Contribute to qualitative data collection *Assist with data analysis *Clean interview transcription *Participate in qualitative coding *Meet with the research team to review project status *Assist with assignments necessary for the completion of project deliverables This position is assigned a hybrid work arrangement (on-campus and remote), the duration of this hybrid work arrangement is at the discretion of Temple University and the Department.
