JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with physical therapists to provide high-quality care to patients in skilled nursing facility and ALF settings. This role is essential in helping patients regain mobility and improve their quality of life through tailored rehabilitation programs. You will work hand in hand with the therapy team and Director of Rehab to provide the best therapy possible for our residents and patients. Your expertise in patient care and knowledge of physical therapy techniques will be essential in helping patients achieve their rehabilitation goals.

REQUIREMENTS & SKILLS

  • Completion of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
  • Valid state licensure or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
  • Strong understanding of medical knowledge and terminology.
  • Experience in skilled nursing facilities settings is preferred.
  • Familiarity with discharge planning processes and care plans for various patient demographics.
  • Ability to work effectively in both inpatient and outpatient environments.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • A commitment to providing compassionate patient care while adhering to safety protocols.

Responsibilities
  • Assist physical therapists in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans for patients.
  • Provide hands-on patient care, utilizing techniques such as trigger point therapy and other physiotherapy methods.
  • Monitor patient progress and document treatment outcomes accurately.
  • Educate patients and their families on exercises, mobility and safety strategies, and discharge planning.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure comprehensive care plans are followed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized treatment environment in clinics or facilities.
  • Work with diverse patient populations, including geriatrics, neurological and orthopedics ensuring age-appropriate care strategies are utilized.
