Mount Aloysius College, repeatedly recognized by ModernThink as a “Great College to Work For,” is searching for qualified candidates to join the Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program as a PTA Program Clinical Coordinator and Professional Tutor. This part-time, 9-month staff opportunity is available beginning August 2025/Fall 2025 and offers approximately 15 hours of work per week during the academic year.
The PTA Program Clinical Coordinator and Professional Tutor will be responsible for coordinating clinical education for the PTA Program, evaluate and ensure the effectiveness of clinical experiences; and document the evaluation and progression of clinical performance leading to clinical competence. This position will also provide professional physical therapist assistant tutoring services to students enrolled in the PTA program. The successful candidate may teach, on an adjunct basis, courses in the PTA program based on course needs and expertise area.
Qualifications
Associate Degree in Physical Therapy Assistant required; Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred. Collegiate teaching experience at the didactic and/or clinical level strongly preferred. Tutoring experience also preferred. The successful candidate must hold an active, unrestricted license to practice PTA in any United States jurisdiction.
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, required; strong organizational skills also required. Competent in instructional and evaluation procedures and techniques. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and the APTA CPI required. The successful candidate must have the ability to work independently and collaboratively as a member of a team, and must be able to work cooperatively with a wide variety of clinical sites. High degree of professionalism and a demonstrated ability to maintain high ethical standards and confidentiality is required.
This part-time position is not eligible for benefits. While some flexibility in scheduling exists, this position is primarily in-person, on campus in Cresson, PA. The option to complete a limited amount of work remotely each week may be available and will be evaluated after successful completion of the initial training period. This role is not budgeted for visa sponsorship at this time; all candidates must be authorized to work in the US at the time of submission of their application.
