JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have experience in meal preparation and a strong understanding of food safety practices. As a Cook, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality dishes that meet our standards and delight our customers. You will work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure efficient food preparation and service.
The current kitchen staff hours are
Monday to Friday 11:30-15:30 & 17:3.-21:30
Saturday 11:30-20:30
Sunday 11:30-19:00
We would be happy to create a Hybrid role that would create a Full-time role to include bar shifts but the right applicant will work a minimum 2/3 days in the kitchen!

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven experience as a Cook or in a similar culinary role within a restaurant environment.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in meal preparation.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in food presentation.
  • A passion for cooking.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment.
  • Relevant culinary qualifications or certifications are advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to established recipes and menus.
  • Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards.
  • Assist in the planning of menus, taking into consideration dietary restrictions and preferences.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including equipment and utensils.
  • Monitor stock levels of ingredients and supplies, reporting any shortages to management.
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during busy periods.
  • Participate in training new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety protocols.
  • Contribute creative ideas for new dishes or improvements to existing menu items.
