The Heathfield Inn is a charming, family-run pub with accommodation in the heart of Honiton. Known for our warm atmosphere, characterful setting, and loyal customer base, we’re now looking for a motivated and hands-on Manager to join our friendly team and work closely alongside the owner.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a varied and rewarding full-time role, ideal for someone with prior experience in a similar hospitality setting – especially in pubs with guest accommodation. You’ll play a key part in the day-to-day operations of the business, ensuring smooth service, managing the team, and helping to grow our reputation and footfall through strong operational and promotional support.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Team Management: Oversee and motivate front-of-house and back-of-house staff, lead by example, and maintain high standards of service and professionalism.
• Rotas & Scheduling: Create and manage weekly staff rotas, ensuring adequate cover and labour control.
• Stock & Ordering: Handle all ordering responsibilities, manage supplier relationships, maintain stock levels, and conduct regular stocktakes.
• Cash & Financial Control: Manage tills, cash handling, daily reconciliation, and support owner with financial reporting.
• Promotions & Footfall Growth: Assist in planning and delivering engaging in-house events, local promotions, and seasonal campaigns to increase footfall and community engagement.
• Key Holder Duties: Open and close the premises, handle emergencies, and ensure venue security when the owner is off-site.
• Customer Experience: Deliver exceptional customer service and step in to resolve issues calmly and professionally when needed.
