Job Description As a Public Area Housekeeping Attendant, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of all public areas in the hotel, including lobbies, restrooms, corridors, elevators, and other guest-facing spaces. The role ensures that all areas reflect the hotel’s standards of cleanliness, presentation, and guest comfort at all times. Key Responsibilities Clean and sanitize all assigned public areas including lobbies, restrooms, corridors, elevators, staircases, and other common spaces. Dust, vacuum, mop, and polish floors, furniture, fixtures, and fittings. Replenish supplies such as tissue, hand towels, soap, and air fresheners in public restrooms. Empty trash bins and ensure waste is disposed of correctly and efficiently. Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, and damaged items to the Housekeeping Supervisor promptly. Respond courteously to guest requests and report any guest feedback or complaints to the supervisor. Ensure all cleaning equipment is used and stored safely and properly. Maintain assigned equipment in good working condition and report any faults immediately. Support the housekeeping team in setting up for special events or deep cleaning projects when required. Follow all hotel policies, procedures, and hygiene standards, including health and safety regulations. Uphold the highest standards of cleanliness, professionalism, and service at all times. Qualifications Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience preferred (hotel experience an advantage). Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and safety procedures. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Physically fit and able to stand or walk for long periods and lift moderate weights. Flexible to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
