Description
Public Area Attendant Position Purpose Responsible for maximizing guests' experience through cleaning and maintaining all public areas in the hotel, as well as assigned public space, guest rooms and office space throughout the hotel. Functions Perform general cleaning duties in public areas, but not limited to, restrooms, public areas, hallways, stairwells, elevators, offices and banquet/meeting/conference rooms, wash walls and ceilings, moves and arranges furniture and turns mattresses Removes trash collected by room attendants Authorized to enter into offices for maintenance or other activities like pest control, shampooing of carpet, etc. Dispatch all request by following work orders and making sure all guest and other hotel offices are fulfilled Ensure all glass doors are cleaned and maintained, and responsible for cleaning lobby fountain, phone dividers Follow the ABC's of Housekeeping guidelines Use proper PPE's and ensure adequate safety and protection when handling chemicals Ensure work area is clean when finished Maintain safety and cleanliness of work area Customer Service Interact in courteous and professional manner with guests and hotel staff with whom employee comes into contact Respond in courteous, professional and rapid manner in order to resolve all guest and staff difficulties Other Other duties may be assigned as needed Attending training sessions set out by the Westin Resort to ensure continued personal development Required Knowledge and Skills Ability to focus and maintain attention to performance of tasks despite frequent, emergency, critical or unusual interruptions Ability to memorize, recollect and quickly retrieve dates, names, times, and other data Ability to converse calmly with irate guests, superiors and subordinates in sometimes intense emotional situations Ability to answer phones quickly, clearly, and professionally Ability to maintain staff and guest confidentiality at all times Interpret and comply with a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic or schedule form Must be able to apply common sense understanding to follow instructions, to make decisions with minimal supervision and to prioritize tasks in order to maintain service standards Must be able to engage in continuous cleaning activities for extended periods of time Special Position Requirements All employees must maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance Must be able to obtain and maintain BT-A Certification during employment Must be required to obtain a forklift license This job description is not an exclusive or exhaustive list of all job functions that an employee in this position may be asked to perform from time to time.
