ABOUT THE TEAM
Worldpay powers 2.2 trillion payments annually across 146 countries in over 135 separate currencies with over a million-merchants supported globally. Worldpay is the largest acquirer by volume globally, we provide a reliable, secure, and scalable payments platform 24x7 365 day a year.
Being part of the 200 strong Infrastructure Services organization, you’ll help to engineer and deliver the core infrastructure services that power our payments platform. We’re responsible for running some very critical systems, maintaining 20,000 servers via an automation platform, thousands of databases and petabytes of storage hosted from our data centres and public cloud.
We are looking for talented individuals to join the Infrastructure Services organisation; you’ll be a self-starter, possess an analytical mindset and be a change agent.
The Infrastructure Cloud Engineering team would be responsible for designing, engineering, and building a mix of on-prem, private-hybrid or multi-cloud IaaS IT systems.
Aims to provide the Infrastructure Services & Technology organization with a standardized, efficient, and scalable platform, tools, and services for development and deployment.
WHAT YOU’LL OWN
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cloud Architect to join our team in the financial services industry. The Cloud Architect will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing cloud-based solutions across AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, and OpenShift platforms. This role demands a deep understanding of cloud architecture, containerization, and platform services, ensuring scalability, security, and compliance within our financial services environment. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation, enhance performance, and deliver resilient solutions tailored to business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cloud Architecture Design: Develop and implement cloud strategies aligned with business objectives, focusing on scalable, resilient, and secure architectures using AWS, Azure, and hybrid cloud environments.
- Platform Management: Leverage expertise in Kubernetes and OpenShift to manage containerized workloads, ensure high availability, and optimize resource utilization for enterprise-grade applications.
- Solution Development: Collaborate with development and operations teams to design, build, and deploy cloud-native applications using microservices, APIs, and container orchestration platforms.
- Security & Compliance: Integrate and enforce best practices for security, identity, and compliance requirements, adhering to industry standards and regulations within the financial services sector.
- Performance Optimization: Monitor cloud systems’ performance and ensure solutions are optimized for speed, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Collaboration: Work closely with development, DevOps, and IT operations teams to align solutions, share best practices, and drive the adoption of cloud technologies.
- Innovation & Best Practices: Stay current with evolving cloud technologies, offering recommendations and implementing new tools and practices to improve organizational capability and efficiency.
- Migration Planning: Lead cloud migration projects and facilitate the transition of existing on-premise systems to the cloud while minimizing disruption to business operations.
- Documentation & Standards: Maintain detailed architectural documentation and design blueprints, establishing and promoting cloud standards across the organization.
