Public Defender: Case Manager *Internal Only*   The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, strong organizational and writing skills, an understanding of the legal system and local resources, assertive behavior, and the ability to communicate with clients, service providers, Judges, attorneys and the court staff in an effective manner.   Salary: $53,380.60 annually    Job Type: Full Time     Examples of Duties * Provide case management services for clients within the criminal justice system that have been referred by Vigo County Courts * Returning phone calls * Meeting with clients * Identifying needed resources * Advocate for the individual's needs * Assist individuals in gathering needed documentation * Support individuals enrolled in Problem Solving Courts * Assist in crisis and emergency situations * Coordinate and link/refer individuals to needed services * Advocate for individual's rights and interests * Provide input to local mental health and addiction providers * Be able to work in a Correctional setting * Develop documentation and keep accurate records. * Be a resource for others * Maintain confidentiality and standards of ethical practice * Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications: * Bachelor's Degree      As an EOE/AA employer, Vigo County Government will not discriminate in its employment practices due to an applicant's age, race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, protected veteran or disability status.
