About the position: The Public Health Nurse will be responsible for the provision of nursing interventions which promote and preserve the health of communities, families and individuals across the lifespan; functions as part of a multi-disciplinary team planning, developing, implementing and evaluating programs and services; uses principles of community development to identify health issues, advocates for policy change; applies innovative health promotion strategies to facilitate healthy living in the community. Qualifications and Competencies: * * * BScN including preparation in public health nursing * Current registration with the Ontario College of Nurses * Experience in community-based service delivery * Self-starter demonstrating initiative and with the ability to take appropriate action/direction * Experience in giving injections intramuscularly, and subcutaneously, to individuals of all ages is an asset. * Demonstrated knowledge and decision-making skills in health assessment, knowledge and understanding of the core functions and approaches of public health practice, strong project management skills * Proven ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team setting * Ability to provide non-judgmental and inclusive service to all clients * Masters level education is considered an asset * A valid Ontario driver’s license, with valid insurance and reliable vehicle access * Valid immunization status, in accordance with organizational requirements.
