We’re hunting for a Public Health Program Assistant, someone who’s ready to be part of a growing team with amazing opportunities. In this position you will perform receptionist and secretarial responsibilities for the department and represent Hospital utilizing exemplary customer service skills with all patients, families, visitors and health care team members. Job Duties & Responsibilities • Provides support for families and health educators for the upWORDS program or other healthcare events. • Provides a safe environment for children/infants within upWORDS class to support the families as needed. • Supports health educators in helping families to be recruited for the program. • Transports necessary classroom/recruiting materials for upWORDS or healthcare events. • Maintains attendance and classroom-related data in paper and online systems. • Provides information and resources to families and members of the community regarding early brain development at recruitment events. • Provides customer service to patients, families, visitors, and healthcare team members. • Coordinates area communication systems/procedures. • Completes secretarial duties and is assigned special projects. • Participates in achieving hospital and department goals. Skills & Requirements • High School Diploma or equivalent required • CHW - Community Health Worker by the Texas Department of State Health Services preferred • 2 years related experience preferred • 6 months experience in a medical office, childcare setting, or hospital environment preferred **Bilingual (Spanish) Highly Desired
