REQUIRED QUALIFICATION
One year experience as an Emergency Management Program Specialist 3;
OR
A Bachelor’s degree AND five years of professional experience in emergency management, financial management (grant, contracting, claims management, budgeting), training/education, public information/affairs, program/project management, environmental analysis/planning, civil/structural engineering, legislative affairs, and/or urban planning.
Additional qualifying experience will substitute, year for year, for the education requirement. A Master’s or Ph.D. degree will substitute for one year of the experience requirement.
SOME OF WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Response information sharing and operations coordination with business and industry partners.
Represent state on emergency management issues to corporations and small businesses throughout the state (including specific SEOC processes and advanced analysis of hazards in Washington State).
Represent Washington in regional business emergency operations center with counterparts from FEMA Region 10 states (AK, ID, OR).
Planning, training, and exercise development with key business and industry partners.
Work with public and private stakeholders to maintain and improve the state’s post disaster access and re-entry credentialing system for businesses throughout the state.
Perform outreach, analysis, and planning with public and private stakeholders to improve supply chain resilience of critical commodities.
