Description Posting Dates: 10/17/2025 - 10/31/2025 or until filled Kern Regional Center is one of 21 private, non-profit regional centers contracted by the State of California through the Department of Developmental Services (DDS) to coordinate community-based services and support for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. Kern Regional Center services over 10,000 individuals in Kern, Inyo and Mono Counties. Our counties cover approximately 22,000 square miles with a population of over 945,000 people. Public Records Administrator performs highly confidential, responsible, complex and varied administrative and analytical work in the development, implementation and administration of a wide range of programs aimed at ensuring the regional center’s compliance with their California Public Records Act (“CPRA”) obligations under the Disability Equity, Transparency and Accountability Act of 2024 (Assembly Bill 1147). This position is responsible for overseeing, coordinating, analyzing, processing, evaluating, and responding to public records requests for Kern Regional Center (KRC). This position will assist in developing, implementing, and updating policies and procedures related to records management. The position will frequently handle complex, confidential and sensitive information and must be able to do so with tact and discretion. Requirements The Ideal Candidate Bachelor’s degree public policy, public administration, political science, business administration, or a related field from an accredited school. Five (5) years of professional administrative experience performing a variety of analytical functions such as program management, policy analysis and organizational development, preferably in a local government, public or legal agency. Experience in public records act and/or principles of record retention, retrieval and redaction will be considered. Or any combination of education and experience may be considered. Must be able to stay overnight to hold meetings and attend trainings when necessary. May be required to visit other locations.
