Garver is seeking a Public Relations Manager to join its award-winning Communications Team to help shape and share the stories behind one of the nation’s leading engineering firms.
This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with a talented team of communicators and work closely with Garver’s business lines to develop and execute strategic PR initiatives, secure earned media coverage, and elevate the firm’s visibility across regional and national platforms. The ideal candidate is a skilled storyteller and media-savvy strategist with a passion for advancing Garver’s mission to improve communities through innovative infrastructure. They bring exceptional organization and discipline to their work and can manage multiple projects simultaneously.

REQUIREMENTS

  • At least 5 years of professional experience in public relations, communications, journalism, or a related field
  • Strong writing, media relations, and storytelling skills with a proven ability to secure earned media
  • APR accreditation is a plus, along with experience supporting PR strategy in technical or professional services environments

Responsibilities

As a Public Relations Manager, you’ll be responsible for crafting compelling narratives that showcase our expertise, celebrate our people, and drive our presence in the industry. In this role, you will:

  • Collaborate with fellow Communications Team members and execute strategic public relations plans that align with Garver’s business goals and brand voice
  • Partner with Garver’s business lines to identify compelling stories, projects, and thought leadership opportunities for earned media coverage
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with journalists, editors, and media outlets across regional and national platforms
  • Proactively pitch newsworthy content to media, including press releases, feature stories, and expert commentary
  • Coordinate media interviews, press events, and speaking engagements for subject matter experts
  • Write and edit high-quality PR materials including press releases, op-eds, bylined articles, media advisories, talking points, and award submissions to spotlight key projects and industry leaders
  • Track and report on PR campaign performance, media placements, industry trends, and engagement metrics to inform future strategy
  • Maintain Garver’s media contact database and ensure timely updates and outreach
  • Report directly to the Public Relations Team Leader, providing strategic support and clear communication across initiatives
