WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a highly skilled Public Relations & Media Advisor who is passionate about enhancing public image and community engagement.

  • Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing or a related field.
  • Proven experience in media environments and public relations
  • Strong writing and research skills for creating effective communications
  • Experience in generating media opportunities and pitching news content
  • Ability to manage sensitive media issues and provide strategic advice
  • A current NSW driver’s licence

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of news values and time management skills. Experience in local government and photography/videography skills are desirable but not essential.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Public Relations & Media Advisor will play a key role in developing and executing strategic media and public relations initiatives. This position is responsible for supporting representatives of Council and effectively managing media relations to convey the organisation’s core messages, priorities, and initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess strong writing and communication skills, along with a proven record of successful media engagement.
This role requires a proactive approach to media strategies, the ability to handle complex issues, and the aptitude to craft high-quality content that resonates with diverse audiences.
