Description

We are Australia’s largest supplier of earthmoving wear parts for mining, construction and infrastructure. We have an extensive network of branches and warehouses, a dedicated export team and over 40,000 products.
Our company is looking to expand its operations into Government projects including Defence and renewable energy infrastructure, and we will be supplying products and expertise directly and in association with our various strategic partners.
We currently have a national presence in Australia and supply to countries where we have identified significant growth opportunities.
We are looking for an experienced public relations professional to be based in Australia who has experience liaising with Australian and overseas governments and has a network of international contacts and substantive international experience who can drive the company agenda and position the company to secure business at a high level.

The responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing strategic, operational and tactical publicity campaigns and communication strategies, geared especially toward governments and large corporates, and with a view to enhancing the company’s reputation in Australia and abroad
  • Managing perceptions of the company and building relationships
  • Providing public affairs and issues management advice to management
  • Crafting narratives that resonate with audiences, especially governments and large corporates, through strategic press releases, social media, and public events
  • Undertaking effective media liaison duties and preparing and distributing media releases
  • Organising promotional events, press conferences, and other activities that foster goodwill and strengthen community ties
  • Representing the company
  • Monitoring media coverage and public sentiment, providing insights that help shape future communication efforts, undertaken with a proactive approach that ensures that the company is always presented in a positive light
  • Conducting research to understand public opinion and media trends, which informs their approach to messaging
  • Oversee the gathering, management and quality of the company’s relations product (including stills and video imagery and articles for publications)
  • Public speaking at events and conferences representing the company

The successful applicant will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience dealing with high level government officials and senior corporate executives with a proven track record and the ability to communicate at government, corporate and community levels. Tertiary qualifications are necessary for this role.
The ability to write and speak English is a prerequisite whilst proficiency in Spanish and Portuguese will be a strong advantage as our focus outside Australia will be the Pacific Rim and Latin America. Frequent travel will be required.
