Team Submarine’s Submarine Program Offices are responsible for:
The acquisition of COLUMBIA Class Submarines and for identifying, assembling, managing, directing, and coordinating the resources required for the R&D, design, construction, Test and Evaluation (T&E) and Live Fire Test and Evaluation (LFT&E) of the class. The program is a major defense acquisition program and is of significant political importance with Congress and the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD).
The acquisition of VIRGINIA Class Submarines and for identifying, assembling, managing, directing, and coordinating the resources required for the R&D, design, construction, Test and Evaluation (T&E), Live Fire Test and Evaluation (LFT&E), and Fleet introduction of the U.S. Navy’s newest class of nuclear attack submarines. The program is a major defense acquisition program with a total life cycle cost of approximately $336B. Additionally, successful improvement of the Class’ capabilities is of significant political importance with Congress and the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD).
The SSN(X) Office is responsible for the acquisition and design of the future fast attack submarine and for identifying, assembling, managing, directing, and coordinating the resources required for the R&D, design, construction, Test and Evaluation (T&E) and Live Fire Test and Evaluation (LFT&E) of the future submarine. The future Attack Submarine will be designed to retain multi-mission capability and sustained combat presence in denied waters with a focus on greater speed, stealth, and horizontal payloads and salvo rates.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 2-4 years of experience managing social media platforms and creating visual content
  • Demonstrated expertise in social media strategy, content creation, and community management
  • Proficiency in design software including Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) and Canva
  • Experience with social media management and analytics tools (e.g., HubSpot, Sprinklr, Analytics) is a plus
  • Active knowledge and practitioner of social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube) and current trends
  • Strong project management skills with ability to handle multiple deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational abilities
  • Proven track record of creating engaging visual content for diverse audiences
  • Strong writing and editing skills with impeccable grammar
  • Experience in developing documentation including social media posts, infographics, fact sheets, info papers, articles, and blogs
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and content management systems
  • Ability to present data and recommendations effectively to leadership

Responsibilities
  • Lead the program’s social media presence across all platforms, developing and implementing comprehensive social media strategies
  • Create, staff, and publish engaging content across social media platforms and the program’s webpage
  • Maintais and execute the program’s social media content calendar, ensuring it is synchronized with the program’s editorial and content calendars.
  • Collaborate with team members to manage community engagement and respond to social media inquiries
  • Provide analytics and performance metrics for social media initiatives, including recommendations for improvement – better posts and increased reach
  • Ensure all social media content adheres to DOD and Navy policies and procedure
  • Develop modern and engaging multimedia content that increases program awareness and engagement
  • Create professional infographics, digital graphics, and visual elements for social media, web content, and print materials
  • Design brochures, booklets, posters, and other visual products using desktop publishing software
  • Prepare visual presentations and materials for speeches, lectures, and multimedia presentations
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure accurate representation of technical information in visual formats
  • Maintain a comprehensive project tracking system for graphics and multimedia assignments
  • Develop digital strategies for information campaigns across web and social media platforms
  • Analyze industry trends and emerging tools in social media and visual communication
  • Advise command staff on visual communication strategies and social media best practices
  • Determine appropriateness of information for release based on security and policy requirements
  • Travel to regional entities as required
