Description

Read’s Uniforms is a multi-million-dollar organization that provides uniforms, accessories, and services to public safety organizations including police, sheriff, fire and EMS departments. This position provides a unique team member with the opportunity to manage a “business” within our company as part of our Public Safety Team in a fast-paced, highly independent but accountable role.
We are looking to fill an Account Manager position for the Upstate of South Carolina. We are open to hiring an individual with experience in a similar type of role or someone with no or limited experience but who can demonstrate they have the can do, will do, and team fit to learn and excel in this position.

Primary Responsibilities –

  • Manage an existing account base while prospecting and growing new accounts within the assigned geographical territory.
  • Daily / weekly responsibilities include department calls, determining customer requirements, product presentations, sizing department employees, providing quotes, keying orders, account meetings, responding quickly to phone calls/voicemail messages and email communications, weekly management plan & review video calls, periodic participation in industry trade shows (some weekends) and periodic team sales and training meetings.
  • Ability to problem solve with customers and our administrative / operations staff in a way that creates a win/win/win environment for the customer, company, and employee.
  • Utilization of listening skills, asking pertinent questions, note taking, process management implementation, and effective follow-up in every interaction with our customers.
  • “Can Do” attitude and work ethic to ensure customer satisfaction with the expectation to maximize effectiveness being engaged in a fifty-hour +/- work week.
  • Become a student and master of our internal processes, your customers, and the vendors/vendor representatives (product lines) that we represent.
  • Embrace being part of a team environment that fosters individual flexibility and responsibility in developing a work plan through performance accountability, internal operations feedback, and customer satisfaction.
  • Sizing employees for uniforms, accessories, and ballistic body armor.
  • Willingness to perform other items outside of your job description as needed to assist peers and our customers.

Skills Required –

  • Clearly demonstrate the ability to effectively manage a project with multiple streams of inputs and people to a successful conclusion.
  • Relate well through excellent in person, verbal, and written communication skills, to a variety of personality types and customer expectations.
  • Negotiate and establish pricing according to our requirements with a displayed aptitude utilizing Microsoft Excel to formulate product profitability/margin in building quotes and proposals.
  • High aptitude with the Microsoft Office Suite of products and the ability to quickly learn our custom order management system.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record. This position requires extensive automobile travel within a geographic area on a consistent basis.
  • Must have excellent internet bandwidth at your residence home office.
  • Must be able to lift fifty (50) pounds with ease.
  • Must successfully complete all pre-employment requirements.

Preferred Experience –

  • We highly encourage those with prior public safety employment, public safety sales or military veterans that meet our requirements to apply.
  • An associate or bachelor’s degree is preferred, but not required as relevant experience can weigh heavily as an excellent substitute to a formal degree program.
  • Otherwise, we are open to any individual who can clearly demonstrate through past performance, a track record that meets our requirements.
  • Requirement to reside geographically in the Upstate of South Carolina.

Compensation -

  • Starting salary commensurate with experience and skills.
  • Compensation is performance-based and tied directly to the profitability of your assigned territory.
  • Quarterly commission and annual bonus opportunity
  • Package includes company vehicle and related expenses, medical/dental insurance, laptop, paid vacation/holidays, and 401K.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
