Description
Provides basic security and protection of persons and University buildings within the University community, including fire safety and emergency response.  Reports to the Public Safety Supervisor.   Qualifications * Serves as first responder to calls-for-service from students, faculty, staff and visitors concerning criminal or civil complaints, maintenance problems, safety situations, alarms sounding, etc. * Provides access control for buildings and other properties. * Handles special event details, money pick-ups, etc. * Enforces parking regulations and provides traffic direction/control. * Provides crime prevention foot patrols; inspects University property for safety hazards and reports identified hazards by way of incident report and/or University work order. * Provides personal escorts; responds to inquiries and requests for information. * Documents relevant incidents in the Public Safety report writing system. * Coordinates with local police and emergency medical services regarding response on campus. * Immediately notify Public Safety supervisory personnel of campus incidents and/or presence of law enforcement, fire or emergency medical services on campus. * Accurate written documentation of campus incidents * Maintain training as Campus Security Authority (CSA) as it relates to the Clery Act. * Other duties as assigned by Director of Public Safety or designee.
