About the Role: As a Public Safety Technology Subject Matter Expert, you will provide senior-level advisory support grounded in deep knowledge of nationwide public safety emerging technology or broadband technology programs. This role focuses on applying institutional, operational, and strategic context to support leadership decision-making related to initiatives, pilots, and investments affecting public safety communications. Key Responsibilities include (but are not limited to): Provide expert advisory support grounded in experience with public safety emerging technology or broadband technology programs and nationwide communications initiatives Apply institutional and historical context to help leadership evaluate proposed initiatives, pilots, and investment decisions Review and provide feedback on analyses, option papers, and recommendations prepared by program and analytical teams Advise on risks, trade-offs, and second-order impacts associated with decisions affecting public safety users and network performance Support framing of executive-level briefings and recommendations for senior leadership Participate in high-level discussions with government stakeholders as a domain expert Support alignment of proposed efforts with mission priorities and operational realities of public safety technology programs Carry out our Commitments to Deliver, Grow, and Thrive Location: You will work as part of a primarily remote team, with occasional in-person meetings at headquarters locations in Washington, DC; Reston, VA; Arlington, VA; or Boulder, CO. Required Experience/Skills: Bachelor’s degree 10+ years of relevant professional experience Demonstrated subject matter expertise in public safety broadband, emerging technology, nationwide communications programs, or comparable large-scale infrastructure initiatives Experience advising senior leaders on complex, high-impact decisions Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to convey nuanced judgment clearly and concisely US citizenship or permanent resident and the ability to pass public trust clearance or suitability Don’t think you have everything for this role but are still very interested?
