Public sector reform is a top priority for the Cabinet Office and the whole of government, and this unit has been set up at pace to deliver on this ambitious agenda to rewire the state and place public services on a sustainable footing with people at the centre. We are an inclusive and collaborative team, where new ideas and innovation are key to success and where diversity of thought and constructive challenge is celebrated and hugely valued.
We are looking for an experienced Grade 7 to support the creation of a reform agenda and deliver on ministerial ambition. This agenda is grounded in services designed around people, including freedoms for front line workers, needs of place and a prevention-first approach.

JOB DESCRIPTION

This role is an excellent opportunity to work closely with ministers, special advisers and senior leaders across central and local government to shape and implement the government’s ambitious public sector reform agenda. We are looking for someone who is passionate about improving the citizen’s experience of public services, and how the government delivers those services.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Championing and supporting the development of flagship digital, AI and data sharing programmes that are central to public sector reform ambitions
  • Co-designing a local authority digital pioneer with the Cabinet Office Test, Learn and Grow programme
  • Leading the team’s working level engagement with DSIT to drive forward the digital reform agenda, supporting them in the writing of advice
  • Working with departments and the Evaluation Task Force to ensure that advice and decision-making on public sector reform is based on high quality analysis
  • Contributing to a collaborative, inclusive and high-challenge / high-support team environment and culture, that values learning and wellbeing

NATIONALITY REQUIREMENTS

This job is broadly open to the following groups:

  • UK nationals
  • nationals of the Republic of Ireland
  • nationals of Commonwealth countries who have the right to work in the UK
