Position Summary: The Public Space Attendant will be responsible for the daily ownership and operational execution of the Housekeeping Department. The Public Space Attendant is responsible for maintaining the highest quality standards in all public areas, assisting and supporting all Housekeeping Associates in assigned areas, assisting with any special cleaning projects. Common Public Areas include, but are not limited to inside and outside areas, including: foyers, restrooms, offices, conference space porches, public walkways, lobbies, fitness center, pool area and salon. Teamwork amongst all housekeeping staff, as well as the ability to perform the daily tasks required for the position, form the foundation on which each individual is able to develop and succeed within the department. Pay Rate: The rate of pay listed on job boards are auto-generated numbers. Kiawah Island Golf Resort’s actual rate of pay for this position is $18.00. Qualifications: High School graduate, or equivalent, is preferred. Previous Supervisory or Management experience of one year is preferred. Must work both independently and in a team environment. Good to excellent communication skills in English both verbal and written. Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations required. Must be able to pass a background check. Expectations & Responsibilities: Responsible for maintaining the highest quality standards in all public areas, assisting and supporting all Housekeeping Associates in assigned areas, and assisting with any special cleaning projects. Maintain established cleaning procedures. Smile and take ownership while providing our guests with quality service. Must be able to work independently & as part of a team. Clean multiple common areas in a timely and efficient manner. Practice safety standards at all times. Follow department standards as well as assist in implementing new procedures for continuous improvement. Ensure that restrooms are maintained and refreshed with supplies on a continuous basis. Remain alert, courteous and helpful to the guests and co-workers at all times. Ensure all storage areas are clean and well maintained. Maintain all cleaning equipment and supplies. Organize, store, and distribute supplies. Document maintenance request on a daily basis. Set up and organize workstation with designated supplies and equipment, including replenishing supplies and equipment as needed during the shift. Must be able to motivate by example either on the production floor or, in a classroom environment. Ability to promote minimum levels of skills and abilities that would create a positive outcome, in a hot or challenging work environment. Upholds the core values and policies & procedures of the resort. All other duties, as assigned. Essential Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift minimum weight of 50 lbs. across short-medium distances. Must be able to stand for the entirety of shift while reaching, bending and stooping. Must be able to work on site due to daily needs of the job requirements. Ability to reach, bend, lift, and carry furniture and equipment.
