Description
Salary Range:$52,432.12 - $79,705.60 Works under the direction of the Library Agency Manager in coordinating and supervising staff members and functions of the public service desks within all areas of the library. Supports Memphis Public Library & Information Center (MPLIC) policies, goals and objectives. Develops and implements library agency goals and strategic plans. Supervises staff including interviewing, hiring, training, scheduling, coaching, performance management, and appropriate disciplinary action in consultation with the Library Agency Manager. Coordinates the collection of books, audio-visual materials, etc., with system-wide and library agency staff. Develops and provides training for staff, volunteers and the public. Prepares payroll reports, employee schedules, leave approval forms, and related personnel actions. Prepares, plans, coordinates and/or presents special projects, workshops, programs and exhibits for staff and public. Provides information services, reader's advisory, and general assistance in library usage using print resources as well as computer databases, Internet, specialized files and collections. Participates in and facilitates library agency and system-wide committees as well as community outreach activities. Monitors the physical condition of the facilities and equipment for damages, security and safety standards, and submit reports of impairment and safety, if necessary. Creates and compiles various reports. Interacts and communicates verbally and in writing with volunteers, management, and staff on a variety of issues and concerns.
