This role is a unique opportunity to shape and implement the CPUC’s next era of innovative transportation policy and programs. Under general direction of the Supervisor, the Senior Transportation Analyst will lead analysis and implementation of policy related to passenger transportation in transportation network company (TNC) services, autonomous (AVs), and electric vehicles (EVs).
The Senior Transportation Analyst will advise Commissioners, Administrative Law Judges, and all levels of CPUC management on transportation policy development and implementation; develop and execute transportation programs and policy; contribute to the team’s knowledge of emerging transportation policy matters and businesses; lead internal and external transportation stakeholder engagement; and perform other transportation research, advisory, or implementation duties, as needed.
The Senior Transportation Analyst will also assist the Transportation Analysis team on a wide range transportation policy and program areas, including expanding on-demand wheelchair accessible transport, evolving the CPUC’s AV Programs, overseeing TNC vehicle electrification, and establishing regulatory oversight of emerging transportation business models. The Senior Transportation Analyst may also collect and analyze large datasets pertaining to TNC and AV company operations alongside the team’s data scientists to inform policy and programs.

Working Conditions
This is a statewide recruitment. This position can be filled in the following locations: San Francisco or Sacramento.
This position requires travel.
