The RM of Edenwold is accepting applications for the position of permanent full-time Public Works Operator.

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum Grade 12 Diploma or any post secondary education considered an asset;
  • Have a valid Saskatchewan drivers license, and clean abstract; Class 1A required;
  • Experience in the operation, care and maintenance of heavy equipment;
  • Have Power Mobile, First Aid & CPR Certifications considered an asset;
  • Knowledge of equipment and job site safety;
  • Have the ability to communicate clearly and concisely;
  • General knowledge of operating and maintaining small equipment is an asset;
  • Work alone independently.

Responsibilities
  • Rural road maintenance, light construction, and snow removal;
  • Understanding and applying the operations of a tandem gravel and semi gravel trucks, motor grader, tractors, and a variety of other equipment in a safe and appropriate manner;
  • Perform daily maintenance and operational checks of equipment utilized;
  • Demonstrate continuous efforts to improve operations and high standards of work practices;
  • Detail oriented with a mechanical aptitude following timelines;
  • Self-motivated, and the ability to work independently and with others;
  • Maintain a working and physical knowledge of changes in technology and operation techniques;
  • Ensure that the shop, equipment and areas are kept clean and organized at all times;
  • Perform other duties assigned by the Foreman and/or Rural Lead Operator;
  • Ability to work in utmost weather conditions;
  • General care of community welfare; and
  • Any other skills (carpentry, welding, electrical, mechanical, etc.) would be considered an asset.
