About the Role We are excited to offer an opportunity to join our vibrant and innovative hybrid publishing team at Springer Nature as a Publisher, working on a varied portfolio of journals in Medicine and Life Science. In joining the team, you would become part of the China Journals team, with colleagues based in Shanghai and Beijing. We have a fantastic opportunity for an individual with a passion for scientific advancement to develop their publishing career and work alongside some of the best researchers in this field. As a Publisher, you would be responsible for vibrant list of journals within the Medicine and Life Science team, working as part of the team to grow the portfolio through strategic journal development and acquisitions. To develop the portfolio, you’ll enjoy being proactive, creative and data-driven to devise and implement journal development plans. As the primary publishing contact for your journals, you’ll work alongside leading academics and with colleagues from across the business, meaning excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships are key to ensure the smooth running and success of the journal portfolio. In this role, you’ll gain exposure to all aspects of the academic journal publishing industry. Role Responsibilities: · Manage and grow a key publishing programme in line with the journal portfolio strategy. · Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with Editors-in-Chief, Society contacts, Editorial Board members and other stakeholders, acting as their key point of contact for publishing matters. · Develop portfolio strategy plans including acquisitions and journal development. · Ensure that all KPIs are regularly monitored, reported and met, and that action is taken as needed. · Strive for maximal efficiency and productivity of the journal portfolio. · Attend external meetings to build close working relationships with external EiCs, EBMs and the wider research community. · Understand the trends and changes in the communities you serve to ensure that Springer Nature can respond timely. · Develop and maintain relationships with a network of researchers. · Build excellent relationships and team working within the immediate team and other departments. Responsibilities
The Publisher will manage and grow a key publishing program in line with the journal portfolio strategy and develop excellent working relationships with various stakeholders. They will also develop portfolio strategy plans and ensure that all KPIs are monitored and met.
