This role in summary Operator must be able to run all hourly jobs in the Punch Press Department, and be able to run any one job for an extended period of time. Must perform 1st piece inspection and other quality checks as needed. Housekeeping is also required. Hearing protection is mandatory. Gloves are required. This is a Safety Sensitive position. Employees in this classification may be randomly screened under the InSinkErator Substance Abuse policy. Training time for this position is up to 1 year. Your responsibilities will include Run any of the hourly jobs in the Punch Press Department, including set-up and operate jobs. Drive a fork truck as required. Assemble small components, change dies, troubleshoot basic press problems, and perform material handling as required. Perform 1st piece and other required quality inspections. Complete all required paperwork, quality records, documents, etc. Comply with all safety and work rules and regulations. Maintain departmental housekeeping standards, and clean/restock area at end of shift. Minimum requirements Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations with whole numbers and decimals. Ability to read and understand work instructions, Operator Inspection Cycles, and other job related material. Ability to read blueprints, and use precision measuring devices, gages, and die programming equipment. Ability to follow oral instructions with minimal supervision, and communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors/leads. Why should you apply?
