Job Title - Purchase Engineer – SCM Division - Weir Minerals Location - Bangalore Purpose of Role: The Purchase Engineer at Weir Minerals is responsible for managing the procurement of raw materials and reinforcement components—such as natural rubber, chemicals, fabrics, steel wires, castings, aluminium reinforcement, and machined parts—required for manufacturing rubber and hose products. The role ensures timely, cost-effective, and quality-focused sourcing, while driving compliance with company policies and systems (SAP PTP). By strengthening procurement processes, this position supports Weir Minerals’ supply chain efficiency and business growth. Key Responsibilities: Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero-harm behaviours in support of a world-class safety culture. Source and procure natural rubbers, chemicals and mechanical manufacturing components Manage procurement of fabricated parts, castings, and for moulded rubber components. Drive supplier negotiations to achieve cost, quality, and delivery objectives. Ensure accuracy and compliance in SAP PTP transactions. Evaluate supplier performance and maintain strong vendor relationships. Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Production, Quality, Finance, SCM) to ensure uninterrupted supply of materials. Review engineering drawings to support procurement specifications.
