Purchase Ledger Clerk
Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchase Ledger Clerk to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the purchase ledger, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, and maintaining effective relationships with suppliers. This role is crucial in supporting our Accounts payable function, and contributing to the overall financial health of the organisation.

Duties

  • Process purchase invoices accurately, and efficiently, in accordance with company policies.
  • Maintain the purchase ledger by ensuring all transactions are recorded correctly.
  • Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Assist in the preparation of payment runs, ensuring all payments are made on time.
  • Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary information for invoice processing.
  • Conduct data entry tasks with a high level of accuracy to maintain up-to-date records.
  • Utilise accounting software such as Xero (preferably, but not essential), Sage, QuickBooks for efficient ledger management.
  • Support the finance team with ad-hoc reporting and analysis as required.

Skill

  • Strong analytical skills to assess financial data and identify discrepancies.
  • Excellent data entry skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in records.
  • Familiarity with accounts payable processes and best practices.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
