James Heal, part of the PPT Group , are based in two adjoining former textile mills a short distance from Halifax, Town Centre, we Design and Manufacture Testing Instruments predominantly for the Textile Industry.

We are looking for a Purchase Ledger Clerk who will be a key member of a small finance department which aims to provide a first-class service to all internal and external stakeholders of the business. The role of Purchase Ledger Clerk is integral to the effective operation of the business. The post holder must engage in regular communication with both internal stakeholders, primarily Purchasing Department and other members of Finance Department, and external stakeholders, primarily suppliers.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Purchase Ledger
§ Registering and processing invoices via system led 3-way matching procedure
§ Code and approve non purchase order invoices
§ Registering and processing supplier credit notes
§ Reconciling supplier statements
§ Liaising with suppliers
§ Assisting with weekly/monthly supplier payment runs
Month End
§ Purchase ledger reconciliation
§ Review and reconciliation of GRNI (goods received not invoiced)
§ Supporting the Accounts Assistant as required

EMPLOYMENT & EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND

  • Math’s & English GCSE Grade C or above (or equivalent)
  • Intermediate level of Excel
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamix AX (ideal)
  • Experience of a high volume transactional finance role
  • A methodical approach to query resolution
  • Ability to work autonomously and use initiative to effectively prioritize own workload
