Job Description Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity 12-Month fixed term The University of Auckland is undertaking a major Finance Transformation Programme to modernise finance systems and redesign core processes. The Purchase to Pay Subject Matter Expert plays a key role in ensuring future‑state solutions are practical, compliant and meets business needs. Working as part of the Finance Transformation Programme, you will bring deep end‑to‑end Purchase to Pay expertise in the University context to support business requirements gathering, process design, system selection and implementation and testing. Partnering closely with Business Analysts, programme teams, vendors and business stakeholders, you will ensure operational, control and user requirements are accurately captured and embedded. Key responsibilities include: Providing expert end‑to‑end Purchase to Pay process knowledge to the Finance Transformation Programme Documenting and validating business requirements, user stories and fit‑gap analysis Supporting current and future‑state process mapping and redesign Contributing to RFP evaluation, vendor demonstrations and solution design decisions Supporting implementation, testing and go‑live readiness activities Working with stakeholders to support adoption, training and post‑go‑live support This is a 12-Month Fixed-Term, full-time role (37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday). The salary range is $62,000-$74,000 pa plus benefits including super and 5 weeks annual leave. For more information, please see Position Description He kōrero mōu | About You You are an experienced Purchase to Pay practitioner who understands how processes, controls, systems and user needs come together in a University context. You are comfortable working in a transformation environment and enjoy translating operational knowledge into practical solutions. You bring strong analytical thinking, attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively across finance, technology and programme teams. You will bring: Proven experience working across end‑to‑end Purchase to Pay processes in a University. Experience with finance systems or ERP platforms in complex organisations The ability to document, analyse and improve business processes Strong communication skills and confidence working with a wide range of stakeholders A structured, pragmatic approach to problem‑solving and change An interest in process improvement, automation and finance transformation Exposure to large transformation programmes, ERP implementations or AP automation is advantageous, as is experience in the tertiary or public sector.
