Description

The Purchaser is responsible for the accurate and efficient procurement of all commercial and fabricated parts as released on the electrical and mechanical project BOMs, as well as any non-project-related purchases as required.
Role and Responsibilities
· Purchase Fabrication, machining, and commercial released on project BOMs.
· Ensure that pricing and delivery fall within project details.
· Maintain good working relations with vendors and participate in vendor performance reviews as required.
· Liaison between engineering and vendors, purchasing and production, and support resolutions where required.
· Process emergency orders efficiently and accurately.
· Assist with returns, damages, and warranty repairs.
· Support all shipping and receiving duties as required.
· Trained as a backup for logistics (arrangements of deliveries pickups) and associated customs paperwork. Experience would be an asset.
· Expedite materials as required to support production demands.
· Proactively pursue cost reductions for all goods purchased.
· Ensure their work area is neat and organized.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
· Min of Grade 12 education (post-secondary education preferred) or
· 1-5 years of relevant experience in a welding/machine shop would be an asset.
· Experience with ERP software.
· Familiar with GD&T an asset.
· Previous experience with machine shop fabrication facility and engineering an asset.
· Strong understanding of fabrication procedures and Strong attention to detail
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
· Great understanding of welding & machining procedures.
· Strong computer skills in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
· Strong communication & interpersonal skills.
· Ability to work to tight deadlines, under pressure, and multi-task.
· Exercise tact courtesy and ethics when dealing with Vendors and Co-Workers.
· Ability to work independently, and in a team environment.
