Due to ongoing growth, we are currently looking for our next exceptional co-worker for a Purchasing role.
The Purchaser will work at our Ingersoll, Ontario plant and is responsible for overseeing the procurement process, managing supplier relationships, and optimizing purchasing activities to ensure cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely delivery of goods and services. This role involves strategic planning, negotiation, and coordination with internal stakeholders to meet organizational objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Post secondary education in supply chain management, or a related field. -
· Experience within the Printing or Packaging industry an asset
· Minimum 5+years experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management.
· Strong negotiation skills and ability to build and maintain effective supplier relationships.
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
· Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
· Certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CSCP, CPSM) is an asset.

Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement purchasing strategies to support business objectives, including cost reduction, supplier consolidation, and risk mitigation.
  2. Identify and evaluate suppliers/vendors based on criteria such as quality, price, reliability, and sustainability.
  3. Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing agreements with suppliers to achieve favorable terms and conditions.
  4. Monitor and analyze supplier performance and industry developments to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  5. Collaborate with internal departments, including operations, finance, and inventory management, to coordinate purchasing activities and ensure alignment with organizational needs.
  6. Manage supplier relationships, including conducting supplier performance evaluations, resolving disputes or issues, and fostering long-term partnerships.
  7. Lead cross-functional teams to support new product launches, sourcing initiatives, or supply chain optimization projects.
  8. Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and emerging technologies relevant to procurement and supply chain management.
